What does ABA therapy look like?
Our trained RBTs visit your home and work with your child in their natural setting. We offer an intensive therapy service that can be completed in as little as 10 hrs per week or up to 30 hours per week based on medical necessity. For our older clients, sessions will look like practicing social interactions, learning planning skills, and life skills. For younger children, our sessions may include blowing bubbles, social games, and embedding learning into fun activities -- it's true that our work looks like we are playing! It should. Our therapy strategies are always tailored to meet the needs of the learner and typically involve the use of natural environment teaching and discrete trial teaching. Our RBTs are taught to strategically embed tasks into the activities. No drills and no tearful moments doing table time! On at least a monthly basis, your BCBA will provide additional training and program reviews with you to ensure you know exactly where you child is, barriers encountered, and progress being made.
What makes us different? Personalized Services. We are a small business that offers personalized, evidence-based, individualized behavior health services. We get to know our clients and the needs of the family. We understand that treatment is not a one-size-fits-all and we work with you and your child to find solutions that work for everyone.
Specialized in Integrated Care. Dr. Ashley is specially trained in integrated healthcare services. While the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) does reference research that shows that an "eclectic approach" to treatment is less effective than ABA alone, Clearwater ABA supports our clients in whatever model of treatment they select. We strive to provide the most collaborative environment as possible.
We do what is best for the our clients. Finally, we ensure that we are the right fit for you! Every ABA provider has their own style and every family has their own preferences and needs. Prior to beginning services, we offer free consultations to ensure that we are able to meet your needs. If not, we do our best to connect you to a provider that might.
Personal Experience. In addition to working in-depth in integrated behavior health and applied behavior analysis, Dr. Ashley is the parent of a child with special medical needs. While no two experiences are alike, she has found common threads in these experiences as a parent. It has lead her to be not only to be a more effective provider, but also more compassionate and understanding of the unique needs of special needs families.
